Insights is committed to respecting your privacy – we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This policy governs how we use the information you provide to us through the Insights Discovery Evaluator. We will only collect information from you through the Insights Discovery Evaluator with your permission, and in accordance with this policy.
When you complete the online Insights Discovery Evaluator, the information you provide is sent securely over the internet to our servers in the United Kingdom. We use this information to generate an Insights Discovery “Personal Profile”. You can find a sample Personal Profile here. Your Personal Profile will be delivered to you by an accredited Insights Discovery Practitioner during a workshop or personalised debriefing. The Insights Discovery Practitioner is required not to share your Personal Profile with anyone else (including your employer or organisation) without your permission.
We do not sell personal data about anyone for any purpose.
In the remainder of the policy below, we explain in detail:
Insights Learning & Development Limited (“Insights”) is registered in Scotland as company number SC107074. Our registered office and global headquarters are located at Terra Nova, 3 Explorer Road, Dundee, DD2 1EG, Scotland, United Kingdom. Insights is the “data controller” for all of the information you enter into the Insights Discovery Evaluator. The information you enter will be stored on our dedicated servers in the UK.

Personal Details
Once you consent to this policy, the Insights Discovery Evaluator will ask you for the following mandatory “Personal Details”:
Preference Data
After you provide your Personal Details, you will be shown a series of word pairs and asked to rank how well you believe each describes you or your preferences. Insights uses these answers (which we call your “Preference Data”) to generate your unique Personal Profile.
IP Address
Our servers will record the IP address of the computer you use to complete the Insights Discovery Evaluator. This information is only used to troubleshoot technical issues that might occur while you are using the Insights Discovery Evaluator, and to ensure the security and functioning of the website. We will keep a record of your IP address for no more than six months.
Insights will use the Personal Details you provide, together with your Preference Data, for the following purposes:
What are the Colour Dynamics, Wheel Position, and Team Wheel?
In the sample Personal Profile [sample IDPP link], you will find the recipient’s Colour Dynamics at page 38. The Colour Dynamics represent the recipient’s unique mix of preferences for how he communicates with and interacts with others (this will be covered in detail during your workshop or debrief). The combination of conscious colour energies is summarised by the Wheel Position he occupies on the Insights Discovery 72-Type Wheel found at page 37. Each of the 72 Types represents a different combination of colour energies.
A Team Wheel is a 72-Type Wheel that has your Wheel Position together with those of your colleagues, such as in this example . In your workshop, you will learn how the information you get from the Team Wheel can help you and your team to understand each other better and communicate more effectively.
Use of your data after your workshop
After you have attended your workshop or debriefing, Insights will keep your data on its secure servers, unless you request that we delete it. We use this data for the following purposes:
To receive your Personal Profile, you must attend a workshop, personalised debriefing, or coaching session facilitated by an Insights-accredited Practitioner. We will share your Personal Profile and Preference Data with the Practitioner before they deliver it to you. All Insights-accredited Practitioners are employees or consultants of either:
As a condition of keeping their Insights accreditations, all Insights-accredited Practitioners are required to handle your personal data in strict confidence and in compliance with this policy. They will only share your information with others, including your colleagues and your employer, either (a) where it is explicitly permitted by this policy, or (b) if you give your explicit permission. During a workshop, you may be invited by the Practitioner to share information from your profile with the group. However, only you will decide whether to share your profile.
Insights-accredited Practitioners may have administrative assistants to help them in preparing to deliver your profile to you. We only permit these administrative assistants to handle your profile for the purpose of assisting the Practitioner, or to provide a copy directly to you.
If your employer or organisation requests a Team Wheel, then we will provide this. However, we will still not share your Personal Profile without your explicit permission.
We will never sell your personal information to anyone for any purposes, and we will not use your Personal Profile, Personal Details, or Preference Data for marketing purposes.
All data collected through the Insights Discovery Evaluator is transmitted securely over the internet using 256-bit TLS encryption protocols or better. The data is stored in the Insights Online database, on secure servers in an ISO 27001-certified data centre in the United Kingdom.
Insights has implemented security policies, rules and technical measures that match or exceed industry-standard protocols to protect your data. These security measures are designed to prevent unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorised modification, unlawful destruction and accidental loss.
Insights provides products and services to customers around the world. However, we will store your Preference Data and Personal Profiles in our data centre in the UK. We will only transfer your data outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) in the following situations:
Insights observes the same high standards of data protection everywhere that it operates, even where the local law might be less strict.
Insights will only keep data for as long as necessary to meet these purposes. At your request, we will delete your personal data from our records. Requests for deletion of your personal data should be sent to our Data Protection Officer by email (legal@insights.com) or at the postal address at the end of this policy.
